A Flexible,
Child-Led Approach
At Morning Star Nursery, we believe that every child is unique, with their own interests, strengths, and way of learning. That’s why we have developed a flexible and adaptable curriculum that puts children at the centre of their learning journey. Our approach is designed to spark curiosity, nurture creativity, and build confidence, ensuring that each child receives the support they need to thrive.
A Curriculum Built Around the Children
Rather than following a rigid structure, our curriculum is shaped by the interests and needs of the children in our care. We observe, listen, and respond to what excites and engages them, using their natural curiosity as a foundation for learning. This child-led approach makes learning more meaningful, enjoyable, and effective.
The 3 Prime Areas We Focus On:
- Communication and Language – We nurture children’s speaking, listening, and understanding skills through engaging stories, songs, role play, and meaningful conversationns.
- Physical Development –
Through active play, outdoor games, and creative activities, we support children’s gross and fine motor skills.
- Personal, Social & Emotional Development –
We foster a warm, inclusive atmosphere where children learn to express their emotions, build positive relationships, and develop independence and resilience.
While our main focus is on these Prime Areas, our activities are thoughtfully planned to support development across all 7 Areas of Learning and Development, ensuring children benefit from a broad, balanced, and enriching experience
A Dynamic Learning Experience
Our approach ensures that no two days are the same! We create engaging learning opportunities based on what interests the children—whether it’s dinosaurs, space, nature, or vehicles. This means that:
✅ Learning is meaningful and exciting, as it is connected to what children love.
✅ Activities can be adjusted to suit different learning styles and developmental needs.
✅ Children feel more confident, as they have a voice in their own learning.
Play-Based Learning in Action
We know that young children learn best through play. That’s why our nurseries are designed to provide hands-on experiences that encourage exploration, problem-solving, and creativity. From sensory play and outdoor adventures to role-play and group discussions, we create an environment that supports every child’s natural desire to learn.
Our skilled practitioners guide and extend children’s learning by introducing new challenges, asking open-ended questions, and providing resources that inspire curiosity. This balance of child-led exploration and adult-supported learning helps children develop independence, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning.
Supporting Every Child’s Development
We recognise that each child develops at their own pace, which is why our curriculum is adaptable to meet individual needs. Whether a child requires additional support or is ready for more challenge, our experienced team ensures that learning experiences are inclusive, personalised, and engaging for every child.
At Morning Star Nursery, we are committed to creating a curriculum that evolves with the children, making learning exciting, meaningful, and tailored to their individual journey. By following their interests and celebrating their progress, we ensure that every child leaves our nursery with the skills, confidence, and enthusiasm to take on the next stage of their learning adventure.
